From loom to your door: how a Moslini saree travels

Every Moslini saree begins on a wooden loom, weeks before it reaches your hands.

First comes the weaving itself. A jamdani can take two to six weeks depending on how dense the motifs are; plain muslin moves faster, silk slower. The weaver counts each pattern thread by hand, which is why no two sarees are ever exactly alike.

Once off the loom, the fabric is washed to soften it, then checked thread by thread under daylight. Loose ends are trimmed, the fall and pico are finished, and the saree is folded the traditional way so the border never creases.

Then it travels. Orders within Bangladesh arrive in two to five days; orders to the United States and beyond arrive in seven to fourteen days. Every parcel is packed flat and light, tracked from our door to yours, so the weave never arrives crushed.
